About YAM

My mother is a beautiful yogini and taught me the beauty of yoga from a young age, she encouraged me to explore my potential in creative arts, I started my training with kung fu, and went on to explore various styles of dance like contemporary, jazz, hip hop, ballet and capoeira. With a degree in dance I traveled to India to discover my Indian roots and my spiritual being was discovered. I trained in Indian martial arts, kalari and traditional Indian dance. I have been a professional dancer for 10 years touring internationally to the far east and Europe.

In 2008 i gave up my life as a professional dancer and took my Yoga teacher training to transform my life and to help others to do the same.

I continued to become a Certified Hatha Yoga and Acroyoga teacher and since then i have toured Internationally sharing Workshops, Retreats, Teacher Trainings and Classes in communities and Yoga studios /Centres across the world.

I frequently spend time in Goa at Ashiyana retreat centre where I am one of the main teachers of the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training courses, and where i also offer treatments in the Spa. Yoga is my life and its a true blessing to share its beauty with the world.

Fun Pyramids

“From this place of mutual support the true self can be realized,
celebrated and shared for the benefit of all.”

“By allowing ourselves to enter into a state of receptivity, we can be open to hearing, feeling and sensing the presence of God coming through another.”

Joyce Vissell

3 Person Backbend on Downdog

“The heart of this path is to look for and support each other’s essence. When each partner actively looks for opportunities to support the other’s essence while also supporting their own deepest self, essence overflows in a growing spiral tha includes both. We seek an experience that unifies rather than divides;
there we can actually celebrate the unity of humanity.”

– Kathlyn & Gay Hendricks

Circle of Trees

Therapeutic Flying

Therapeutic flying utilizes gravity and metta (loving kindess) to release and open the flyers’ spine while grounding and empowering the base. Here the flyer receives all the benefits of an inversion without any of the effort.
This is the nectar of AcroYoga, aka Anti-Gravitational Spinal Elongation Therapy.

“We’re never so vulnerable than when we trust someone – but paradoxically, if we cannot trust,
neither can we find love or joy.”

– Walter Anderson

Reverse Bat

“The glory of friendship is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else
believes in him and is willing to trust him.”

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Thai Massage

Thai massage is a type of massage in Thai style that involves stretching and deep massage. This form of bodywork is usually performed on the floor, and the client wears comfortable clothes that allow for movement. No oils are used in Thai massage

The massage recipient changes into loose, comfortable clothes and lies on a mat or firm mattress on the floor. It can be done solo or in a group of a dozen or so patients in the same large room.
The receiver is put into many yoga-like positions during the course of the massage.

The massage practitioner leans on the recipient’s body using hands and usually straight forearms locked at the elbow to apply firm rhythmic pressure. The massage generally follows the Sen lines on the body—somewhat analogous to meridians or Channel (Chinese medicine) and Indian nadis. Legs and feet of the giver can be used to fixate the body or limbs of the recipient. In other positions, hands fixate the body, while the feet do the massaging action.

A full Thai massage session typically lasts two hours or more, and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body; this may include pulling fingers, toes, ears, cracking the knuckles, walking on the recipient’s back, and arching the recipient’s into bhujangasana or (cobra position). There is a standard procedure and rhythm to this massage.
